About Cindy
Cindy is an Administrative Assistant at Hanigan Law Group and has been with the firm since its inception. She communicates regularly with and is a value to, many of the Firm’s clients and prospective clients.
Cindy began her professional career in the political field, working on multiple local, state, and federal campaigns. Her strong organizational and communication skills naturally led her to employment as a caseworker for US Congressman Leonard Boswell, acting as a constituent liaison with the Department of Revenue, Agriculture, Immigration, and Transportation. Cindy later worked as the executive assistant to Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture Patty Judge and had the pleasure of serving as Patty’s executive assistant when she was elected Lt. Governor. Her employment with the state ended at the State Historic Preservation Office where Cindy worked as the Review and Compliance Disaster Recovery Officer and State Historic Tax Credit Program Assistant.
Cindy started her legal career as an Administrative Assistant at Dentons Davis Brown Law Firm in Des Moines. She worked for multiple attorneys, including Bill Hanigan, who practiced primarily in real estate, business organization and transactions, agribusiness, renewable fuels, finance, and securities. Cindy’s background, willingness to learn and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment quickly led her to become the firm go-to for corporate and securities filings.
In 2022 Cindy left Dentons for an opportunity to join Bill as he started a new firm in Des Moines’ East Village. Cindy is a familiar face to many of Hanigan Law Group’s clients having worked with Bill for over 13 years. Although her title is Administrative Assistant, Cindy wears many hats at Hanigan Law Group. She helps manage the office, handles client billing, and performs corporate paralegal duties in addition to supporting our attorneys, maintaining client files, organizing calendars, and leading the charge for office fun.
Cindy is an active volunteer in her community and is a member of several nonprofit organizations. Cindy enjoys spending time outside in her garden, on her motorcycle, and with her family.
